Strong Demand for UM's New Generation Courses

Strong demand for University of Melbourne undergraduate courses including its New Generation courses - has enabled the University to make a record number of offers to undergraduate students.

UM's New Generation Arts degree appears to have proven to be the most popular course in Victoria with demand enabling 1772 offers to be made. The New Generation Science degree with 1012 offers sits second in Victoria behind Arts.

The New Generation programs allows student to study a broader range of subjects in additional to their choosen degree. This is designed to provide students with more intellectual breadth. Also, the courses are based on sufficient disciplinary rigour to be both high-quality 'stand-alone' degrees and adequate preparation for graduate programs.
