UOW Wins Australia's Best Business Park
The University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus has been named the best new business and industrial park in Australia. The Innovation Campus, on which many UOW's courses are taught, took out the prestigious award at the Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards at a gala dinner attended by more than 700 people at Sydney's Darling Harbour on 14 May.
UOW Vice-Principal (Administration) Chris Grange said the award recognised the quality of what the Innovation Campus offered to tenants, and would help the University market the campus to potential international partners looking to establish operations in Australia.
UOW has already attracted Indian global ICT services company MphasiS, and is actively marketing the Innovation Campus internationally, particularly in China and India.
"Today, the iC is a vibrant business and research hub attracting local and international tenants including BHP Billiton Illawarra Coal and global ICT services company MphasiS. The iC offers tenants the unique combination of A Grade facilities and proximity to Sydney, as well as synergies with the Universitys research strengths. The development of the iC continues and we look forward to an exciting year ahead, said Mr Grange.
