La Trobe University has again performed strongly in the prestigious 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject, most notably in the Medical and Health field, placing among the world’s top 175 universities.

La Trobe continues to climb the rankings in Social Sciences, Business & Economics and Computer Science, with Law and Life Sciences in the top 200.

La Trobe has also climbed the Shanghai Global Sports Science rankings, jumping 28 spots worldwide and 7 places in Australia. Our achievements in Sports Science have earned La Trobe the #8 ranking globally and secured the #3 spot in Australia.

This great result is thanks to the high-quality research of our Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre.
