The University of Queensland (UQ) has reached its highest-ever global position in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities 2021, released on 16 August 2021.

UQ has improved its global rank three places to 51st and maintained its 2nd place in Australia.

More than 2000 universities are ranked by ARWU every year, with the best 1000 published. This achievement is a reflection of the outstanding work of UQ`s research, academic and teaching staff.
