What’s changed?
Due to recent decisions by education authorities in the ACT, NSW, and Victoria, students enrolled in the GDOT program now face placement restrictions in these states. These changes are outside the control of Southern Cross University and impact students’ ability to complete mandatory professional experience placements in their home state.

Student options:
Advice to students includes the following options:

1. Remain in the GDOT and travel interstate for placements (with limited travel/accommodation support available).
2. Transfer to the Master of Teaching (MTeach), which allows placements in their home state/territory. The transfer will occur for Term 1, 2026, and credit will be given for completed GDOT units.
3. Decline the GDOT offer and withdraw, with a full refund of prepaid fees.
